Teacher Feature: Carlise Azmitia

“Artistic talent is a gift from God and whoever discovers it in himself has a certain obligation: to know that he cannot waste this talent, but must develop it.”
– Pope John Paul II
At the Saint Therese Classical Academy, students are given ample opportunities to discover their God given talents. From their beginnings, little ones are exposed to only what is true and beautiful. Everything that is set before them has been carefully picked to not only educate, but feed the soul and assist in revealing what God has hidden. Each year these talents become more apparent and we are blessed to have beautiful adults that can help refine and perfect them in each of our students.
One such person is our fine arts and music teacher, Mrs. Carlise Azmitia. Not only does she possess amazing skills in vocals, all art mediums, and photography, her kindness and love of each student make her a unique and rare treasure.
One of her vocal and art students said, “Lessons do not seem like a teacher/student relationship, it is more like a friend encouraging a friend to their best. She is always willing to meet you where you are at and help you grow from there.” – Therese – Grade 11
The proof is in the growth of our students, whether blending together in harmony in advanced choir, photographing nature’s beauty, or painting a beautiful masterpiece, Mrs. Azmitia brings out the best in our children. She said herself, “STCA not only opened their door to me, but opened their arms with a big hug. I do not feel like I am teaching any kid. I feel like I’m teaching ‘my kids’, my family.”
Thank you Mrs. Azmitia for being such a blessing to our Academy!
