About Us

Our Philosophy

At the Saint Therese Classical Academy, we believe that each child is a gift from God and blessed by Him with unique talents and abilities. Using the Classical Trivium and Quadrivium along with the study of history, science, and literature, students will be given the tools necessary to grow and fulfill the vocation God has planned for them.

Why STCA?

What can our Academy do for you?

  • Whether in school or online virtually, we are committed to assisting your child through a time tested and traditional curriculum where they are taught how to think, not what to think.
  • Our small class size enables instructor, parent, and child to work together to maximize learning.
  • Children are in levels not grades. This gives them ability to advance in strong subjects and the time to master others.
  • We use a curriculum where parents will play an integral role in the education of their child.
  • We offer a safe, loving, nurturing, faithful environment both in person and online where your child can grow in love and grace.

Classical Education?

What is a Classical Education?

  • Classical education is the authoritative, traditional and enduring form of education, begun by the Greeks and Romans, developed through history and now being revived.
  • The Trivium: grammar, logic, and rhetoric are the pervasive subjects in a classical curriculum followed by the four disciplines of Mathematics in the Quadrivium: arithmetic, geometry, music and astronomy.
  • All subjects are not self-contained. They are interwoven and naturally cross-curricular. History, grammar, logic, Latin, religion, and even science and mathematics blend together in harmony.

Why a Classical Education?

  • The classically educated child will be properly formed and instilled with virtuous study and work habits.
  • The classically educated child will be a seeker of truth and beauty.
  • The classically educated child will be able to think independently using their reasoning.
  • The classically educated child will be able to recognize and defend truth.
  • Our greatest thinkers, poets, musicians, artists, engineers, mathematicians, founding fathers, architects, and religious were all classically educated.

STCA is the 1st Classical Academy in the Hudson Valley
